Values Statement
Personal and professional values are central to the mission of Jamal Place.
Our agency identifies the values to which we will adhere as we provide service to children and families. These values guide the conduct of the board of directors, agency, group home staff, consultants and volunteers.
These values also reflect the standards to which the general public may hold Jamal Place accountable.
Jamal Place Values:
- Respect, as evidenced by the demonstration of: courteous, professional behavior, tolerance of others feelings, recognition of personal and professional boundaries and acceptance of cultural differences.
- Honesty, as evidenced through the establishment of trustworthy relationships and be being truthful in our words and actions.
- Responsibility, as evidenced by the demonstrated commitment to those dependent upon us, completion of personal and professional tasks and goals and professional and courteous communication.
- Faith, as evidenced by respecting the spiritual beliefs of the home and agency and through the encouragement of individual spiritual growth.
- Understanding, as evidenced by genuine, empathic responses to others, the demonstration of tolerant behavior toward others, and recognizing and supporting the concept of self-determination and the power of human potential.
Love, as demonstrated by generosity of spirit, kind and thoughtful actions, friendship and support in times of conflict and compassion in times of challenge.- Discipline, as evidenced by delaying immediate gratification, completing all responsibilities and conquering personal and professional obstacles.
- Loyalty, as evidenced by constructively supporting one another and trusting one another.
